THANKSGIVING DAY !!!

What do people do?

Thanksgiving Day is traditionally a day for families and friends to get together for a special meal. The meal often includes a turkey, stuffing, potatoes, cranberry sauce, gravy, pumpkin pie, and vegetables. Thanksgiving Day is a time for many people to give thanks for what they have.

Thanksgiving Day parades are held in some cities and towns on or around Thanksgiving Day. Some parades or festivities also mark the opening of the Christmas shopping season. Some people have a four-day weekend so it is a popular time for trips and to visit family and friends.

Sports In My School

Hi Kelly,

Great to hear from you!! It's my pleasure to help you with your school project.

First of all, in my school the sport we play the most this term is volleyball. My school has got a gigantic basketball court, where we put a volleyball net when we play matches. We all enjoy playing volleyball!! Our PE teacher has already shown us how to play correctly and safely, so we are all ready to try to beat each other!!

You also wanted to know how students benefit from playing volleyball. Well, in my opinion I think there are no disadvantages to playing volleyball or any other sport for that matter. You feel fresh and active. Team sports make you more sociable and most of the times more competitive too. Also, you don't just benefit physically. If you play sports, you do better at all the other school subjects and you increase your self-discipline. So, why not play volleyball for less than thirty minutes a week and benefit so much without really trying hard??

I hope this helps. If you have any more questions, drop me a line!!

Kisses,

Zeta

  Hello Kelly,

Great to hear from you!  I'll be happy to help you with your school project!

First of all, in my school we can play basketball and volleyball. My school has got a basketball court and a volleyball field. During our physical education lesson we play volleball matches with my classmates. Myy class often plays against the B2 or B3 class. We have lots of fun.

You also asked about how students benefit. Well, first of all they exercise their body and learn many new things about the sport which they play (for example how many players play in a volleyball or basketball team, how many are the points they need to score e.t.c) Also, they learn the importance of team work and self-discipline. It's very important to learn how to work with others and respect the other players in your team!

I hope this helps. If you need any more help, let me know.

Bye for now,

    Bill

SPORTS AND ACTIVITIES IN MY SCHOOL

  Hi Kelly,

Great to hear from you! I'll be happy to help you with your project.

First of all, you asked about the sports and activities that we do at our school. Well, in my school we often play volleyball and basketball. This is probably because we can play both sports at the school court. As for why we do these activities, I believe that we learn to work as a team. We also become more competitive and we organise volleyball tournaments!

You also wanted to know how students benefit from playing sports. As you know, in my opinion students enjoy a lot of benefits when doing sports because they do something different! They don't just sit all day behind their desks; instead, they move and run around, so they get fit and have fun while they're learning.

I hope this information answers your questions. If you need to know anything else, just ask!!!

Chocolate mince pies

                     Preparation method:

Mix the flour, icing sugar, cocoa powder and salt together in a bowl. Mix in the butter with your fingertips until the mixture resembles breadcrumbs.
Stir in the egg until the mixture comes together in clumps (you may need to a little cold water). Knead the dough briefly until smooth, wrap in clingfilm and leave to chill in the fridge for one hour.
Preheat the oven to 200C/400F/Gas 6.
Mix the mincemeat, clementine zest and juice together in a bowl.
Remove the pastry from the fridge, and roll out to a thickness of 0.5cm/¼in. Using a 7.5cm/3in fluted cutter, stamp out 12 discs from the pastry and use them to line a 12-hole bun tin. Fill each hole with two teaspoons of the mincemeat mixture and brush the edges with a little milk.
Using a 6cm/2½in fluted cutter, cut out 12 circles and use them to top the mince pies, pressing the edges together with your fingertips. Re-roll any remaining pastry and cut our snowflakes or star shapes to decorate the top. Brush the top of each mince pie with beaten egg and gently place the decorations on top, then brush again with egg.
Bake in the oven for 20-25 minutes, or until the pastry is cooked through.

Ingredients:
280g/10oz plain flour, sifted
125g/4½oz icing sugar, sifted
50g/2oz cocoa powder, sifted
pinch salt
200g/7oz cold butter, diced
2 free-range egg yolks
500g/1lb 2oz ready-made mincemeat
2 clementines, zest and juice
2 tbsp milk
1 free-range egg, beaten

WHY ARE SPORTS IMPORTANT

I think that sports are important because they keep you fit and healthy.I personally don' do any sports but I did tae-kwon-do a long time ago.It helped me a lot to be flexible and I learned some moves so I can defend myself if something goes wrong.
